Earlier in the week I was fortunate enough to hear on WOXY the new single “Melody Maker” from Caribou (Daniel Snaith formerly known as Manitoba) and the track has been stuck in my head ever since. It’s superb and as much as I hate using the term psychedelic, it definitely has that kind of attention-grabbing feel with all manner of sound blasting throughout.

It’s pretty awe-inspiring to know that all these sounds basically come from one man. Anyways, this week the single was released that features “Melody Maker” and a remix from Four Tet featuring: Luke LaLonde of Born Ruffians, Adem and One Little Plane. The album Andorra will be released later this summer on August 21st via Merge Records. Definitely listen to this track, as this is an album to keep your eyes on.

I’m glad you finally listened to this. I’ve been sitting next to you for a month listening to this at work. We need to share what we are listening to somehow.

    yes, I agree, it’s superb…
psychedilsm revisited, that’s sure (it reminds also the mood of the Song of Iron & Wine “The White Teeth Man”, I don’t know exactly why…)
