This week’s releases features two highly anticipated albums with Icky Thump by The White Stripes and The Fragile Army by the Polyphonic Spree. I’ve only listened to both sparingly, so I don’t really have anything to say about either.
Outside of those two obvious releases, there are a few that I think everyone should really check out starting with Teardrop Sweetheart by Misha and We Can Create by Maps. They’re both really excellent albums, with each having their own unique qualities that i’ve touched upon in previous posts here and here.
A couple other albums that have caught my eye are Minus Story’s My Ion Truss and Memphis’ A Little Place In The Wilderness, which has finally been released here in the U.S. If you weren’t familiar, the group is a side-project of Torquil Campbell from Stars. I’m also really digging this track off the new Digitalism album, so i’ll definitely have to check out the rest of that one also. Sorry for such short paragraphs, as i’m just really tired.
