It feels good to be consistently posting again here on the blog, as it makes me feel like i’ve been coasting for the first five months. I don’t know what has spurred this sudden interest in blogging, but i’m not gonna complain. Hopefully this will last for a while, and not end up with me deciding to quit in two weeks.

The one constant on this blog is the Daily Graboid, and this week it doesn’t disappoint. There are some quality releases including The Long Blondes’ Someone To Drive You Home (which I mentioned this morning), Trembling Blue Stars’ The Last Holy Writer, The Ladybug Transistor’s Can’t Wait Another Day, Dappled Cities’ Granddance and Bonde do Role’s With Lasers among the few that i’ve been listening to. Val over at Indietastic introduced me to The Cinematic Orchestra and since than i’ve been listening to “To Build A Home” frequently as we both agree that it’s almost like a lost Coldplay track from Parachutes. Haven’t had a chance to listen to the rest of their album Ma Fleur, but i’m sure I will eventually.

Anything else worth checking out that I may have missed? I see that the new Architecture in Helsinki single “Heart It Races” was released as well. It took me a few listens to get into that song, but it’s grown on me since I first heard it initially. To check out the full list head over to Largehearted Boy for a full list of the week’s releases.

hmmm glad you are liking cinematic orchestra, their new album is really beautiful but you must also hear some of their earlier work, dark jazz in its finest!
