Last night my wife and I went to Ratatouille, Pixar’s latest visual feast, and I have to say I loved every minute of it. The short review is this- The movie was on par with Pixar’s best (my personal favorite still being the Incredibles). I know it’s not not at all indie, but I highly recommend this film to everyone with a sense of humor- it will put a smile on your face while pleasing the eyes.
The voice actors did a superb job, and Pixar continues their tradition of coming up with fun and imaginative stories to complement their lovable and believable characters who, despite being computer-generated, still manage to breathe more life into their films than many live-action characters do. Particularly impressive are Remy (the main character, voiced by Patton Oswalt) and the never-pleased food critic Anton Ego, voiced to perfection by Peter O’Toole. I was skeptical when Disney bought out Pixar, but it looks like Pixar’s managed to keep some autonomy; there isn’t a single sign of the blandness found in anything Disney’s done in the last decade.
So, if you want to have a good time at the movies, I recommend this movie fully. In any case, I’ll treat you up a few tasty tracks concerning rats…

And now, I’ll have wait until next week when I can return to my childhood and watch the Transformers provide me with some thought-free exploding entertainment.

i really liked the first song moonbabies! it was really peaceful. not really what i’d go for but it was ‘nice.’ Haven’t seen the movie but the adds were good when it was coming out. Recommended?
