Now that I’ve listened to the new Spoon album in all its rocking glory, I need good music to kill the time until I can buy it and not have to listen to a streamed version. So, for the next month I think I’ll be giving Get Him Eat Him’s Arms Down quite a few more spins. All I can say is it’s catchy indie rock that’s well worth repeat listens- I ended up getting the album after being unable to stop listening to the tracks I downloaded after liking the track Paul put on the Daily Graboid recently. Members of Beirut served as guest musicians, but don’t expect it to sound like everyone’s favorite faux-Eastern Europeans. This is more along the lines of indie rock pop of the New Pornographers or one of Stars’ more rocking tracks (without actually sounding like either of those bands), and was produced by a former member of the late, great Dismemberment Plan. It gets my seal of approval at least… Enjoy!
