Oooh a chance to dream about my future wedding’s mixtape. I feel like I’m in fourth grade again! I love your mixtape, btw. It’s a refreshing mix to the normal love songs that are played. How many times can one listen to Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ at a wedding? Ugh.

My personal pick would be something old school and danceable, like GQ’s ‘I Do Love You’ and Al Green’s ‘Let Stay Together’. And I love swing and the standards, so something upbeat and romantic like Harry Connick Jr’s ‘Save The Last Dance’ or Louis Armstrong’s ‘La Vie En Rose’. One thing – I would never play Eric Clapton’s ‘Wonderful Tonight’ though, cos I’ve seen enough wedding receptions where people would just bawl on the dance floor when it played.
But I haven’t just got old songs to recommend. What about an oldies-sounding ‘I Love You’ by the Bees? It’s sweet and chill, perfect for ‘alone’ time. Thanks and good luck!

Oh, and I forgot the tune played at MY wedding!

It’s pretty cliche now, but I was married right after Rattle and Hum was released (and Reality Bites wasn’t even a blip on the radar screen), so at the time, “All I Want is You” by U2 was pretty cutting edge. (Ooops, pun not intended.)

I hope what I said about not receiving a wedding invitation didn’t come off as spiteful or anything of the sort. I don’t think it would’ve been possible for me to attend considering Pablo lives in Utah and myself in Alabama haha, so i was just joking around with it.

Why didn’t he give you any invitation? He must have missed it or he must have thought that you don’t need any invitation anyway you will still attend this very special moment in his life. Is this picture in your post a sample of his wedding cake décor? It’s cool although it might mean that he was forced into something. But I don’t think so. Your friend is a strong willed man and no one can ever force him into doing something that he does not like.

By the way, I like your wedding mix. It inspires me to make my own too especially that my own wedding day is fast approaching.

Whoa…just as read this (and the Flowers in the Window entry), that exact song started playing on iTunes (had it on shuffle). Also watched Knocked Up last night and took note of and loved the Loudon Wainright supervised soundtrack. Yellow Stereo is my soulmate.
