The wonderful folks over at La Blogotheque recently put up a video of one of their “Take Away Shows”, this time filming Sufjan Stevens covering one of my all-time favorite songs “The Lakes of Canada” by The Innocence Mission. I’ve heard a few live iterations of the song from him before, as I think he’s quoted somewhere saying it’s one of the most beautiful songs (I agree!). Check out the video as it’s simply him strumming a banjo above the roof of Cincinnatti’s Memorial Hall during the MusicNOW Festival.

Beautiful video. I mean, objectively, its simple, but I love how the exposure settings create a white-sky effect. It doesn’t hurt that Sufjan did a nice cover of the song.
