I didn’t catch this bit of news until I saw it posted on Cable & Tweed only a few minutes ago, but my jaw pretty much dropped to the floor upon reading that both Rufus Wainwright and Neko Case will be performing at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on August 13, only a few days before my birthday. This is probably the best pairing for a show i’ve seen so far this year, as these are two artists who’s music I absolutely adore. I’ve been lucky enough to catch Rufus twice, but have managed to fuck up every chance i’ve had to see Neko perform.
They’ll only be performing together for five dates it looks like, so get your tickets now as they happened to go on sale yesterday on Ticketmaster. You can read the rest of their respective tour dates over at Pitchfork.

I believe you mean Nashville, TN, and not Nashville, TX.
Thank you for posting this and not leaving me hanging since what you put on AIM just made me go – wait – what?? Don’t sign off on me!!! I may have to try to catch the Philly date.
Bought my ticket today for Tabernacle. Woot!
Yeah, the Rufus people are not doing the best job getting the word out about this show.
I’m just sayin’…
That’s a good thing that the Rufus folks haven’t been the best about spreading the word…….more tickets for the rest of us!! Thanks for posting this! They are not going to be by me until November…..
[...] After the recent announcement of Rufus Wainwright tour dates, I sort of went into a frenzy of gathering up any kind of live performances that I could find. I remembered that I had the Live at the Fillmore performance that was included as a bonus disc on the Want Two album that was released in 2004. I’ve always wanted to have a ripped audio copy of this to listen at work or wherever, but I had never found one until yesterday. It’s a brilliant performance if you’ve happened to watch the dvd for yourself, as it included two or three songs that were never included on any of his full-length albums. Of course, I would share this with all of you. [...]
He was absolutely on fire in VA! It was hot as hell at the concert which was held outdoors, but it was worth it to see Rufus perform live. It’s not listed anywhere yet but he will be in Utah on March 15th. I’m gonna fly over to see it
