Happy Birthday The Yellow Stereo! (oh-em-gee party time!)

Today marks exactly one year since our inaugural first entry into the world of blogs. I’ve had so many people tell me that I needed to create some kind of gigantic post to commemorate the occasion, but I am too lazy to come up with anything like that. I just want to say how thankful I am to all of you who’ve been with this blog since the very beginning. To all the readers, friends and contributors who have helped shaped the very foundation of what The Yellow Stereo is all about.
I never imagined this site would last this long, but it’s been a pleasure making this a place for you to visit and share your passions of music. I remember when I first started and how I read that most blogs usually never last past three months. Many times i’ve felt the urge to quit this blog all together but it’s all of you with your kind words and support that makes the many hours put into this site worth the effort. For all the negative that could ever come out of maintaining the blog, the good that has come from it far outweighs itself.
My first stab at a music blog. I honestly don’t know what the hell i’m doing, but a friend asked me to try it out. I’ve been reading other people’s blogs for inspiration. Seems fun though, i don’t hear enough new music as i would like but whatever I find i’ll be sure to post on here.
Look at that, I even manage to quote myself as that excerpt is from my very first post. Even today I still have no idea what the hell i’m doing, but maybe we can keep this ship moving until the blog is old enough to buy porno mags and cigarettes. Really though, thanks to everyone for being so good to the blog. I love all of you and it’s you who make everyday spent with the site fun and enjoyable.

Sorry, I didn’t feel like making any mixes. This song probably has nothing to do with this subject but it’s just a perfect song regardless in my opinion. I’m sure there are plenty of lame birthday songs out there in the world, but today isn’t the time for those. It’s just a song that makes me feel good when I listen to it, and that’s what this occasion means to me.

I’ve had a lot of wonderful memories associated with this blog. Remember the time when we interviewed that guy on aim at 4am to be our band “interviewer”, and the time we first got mentioned by mtv, or the time we first hit the 1000 mark, and how we use to stay up until the wee hours talking about music and brainstorming posts? Good times and good memories! =)
One year later, countless songs, multiple host changes, expansion into myspace and facebook, and the blog is still going strong with the same spirit as the initial post. Happy Birthday The Yellow Stereo! May there be many years to come!
