Just small post before I head to bed tonight as there appears to be some buzz over the image that was discovered on an extended trailer of 300 (which I will be seeing later tonight). For those who haven’t been keeping up much with the development of Watchmen, the graphic novel by Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, From Hell) which is considered by many the greatest ever written. It’s been in the works for several years while under the supervision of many different directors, but currently is set to be the next project of 300 director Zach Snyder.
The image in question is at the 1:52 mark during this trailer and there you have for a split second (I had to pause it to catch it for myself) an image of Rorschach from Watchmen. I’ve never read Watchmen myself, but i’ve started to develop a major interest in graphic novels all together so i’ll be sure to check this out for myself sometime in the coming months. So is the image a fake? For the most part it’s the real deal from what i’ve read, as there’s been confirmation on Ain’t it Cool and CHUD that it’s a test image and not a final still. Regardless, I still think it’s a nice touch to add that in there as it’ll just heighten the anticipation of the development of this project.
Do check it out anyways just because this uncut and extended trailer of 300 will be a taste of what you can expect as it the film ust opened nationwide today. If you’re not familiar, it’s based off the graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City). Most people are crying foul because it looks historically inaccurate, but insane because it’s not supposed to be as its’ a stylized version of the Battle of Thermopylae by Frank Miller. Plus I want to be entertained, not learn about historical facts so count on me being there tonight watching this. If you were wondering what the music was to that trailer, it’s a track from Nine Inch Nails.

Dude! thanks for looking for the trailer soundtrack, didn’t find it in the soundtrack CD, but landed up on this page and got it!
If you read watchmen you MUST read it in the right way.
Don’t blast through it in one extended session even though you’ll really really want to.
Read one chapter a night and no further. You can read back through chapters you’ve already read but don’t DONT skip ahead.
The reason for this is quite simple it was designed to be read in sections one month apart so you’ll actually think about events that happened in the current chapter and get the full impact.
I first read it about three years ago using this method and it gave me a real insight into why its considered the greatest graphic novel of all time.

Just a note about Nine Inch Nails. They’ve just released one of their songs as an Apple’s GarageBand project. You can download it for free on their website. I think you must have the newest version of GarageBand, though, because when I tried to open it up it gave me a warning.
