I finally got around to listening to that new track from Leslie Feist’s forthcoming The Reminder, which was announced not too long ago. It’ll be released worldwide on April 23rd with a U.S. release to follow on May 1st. Not that she hasn’t been keeping herself busy in between albums with her frequent collaborations as Bitch Lap Lap with Peaches and also with Broken Social Scene. She also even managed to release Open Season which primarily contains remix and alternate versions of tracks from Let It Die.
I think a somewhat amusing fact upon hearing the news of that release is that there are still people discovering Let It Die which was released in 2004. There are also at least two commercials currently showcasing tracks off that album as well. Basically, Feist can still be heard and discovered everywhere and news of a brand new album can do nothing but skyrocket her to more success.
The new track is called “My Moon, My Man” and it’s been floating around for a while now, so more than likely you’ve already heard it. After finally listening to it yesterday, i’ve had it playing non-stop as this song is just downright sexy. Especially during that chorus as her enticing voice just manages to put me in this trance where I would do anything this voice would tell me to do. Make you silly haikus?! No problem. Make fun of Chris at Indietastic for not knowing who Feist is?! No sweat. Just kidding there Chris, but for those who still haven’t given a chance to experience her gifted vocal talents, now is the best time to do so.

That track has some different instrumentation than what we’re used to from her…and I like it! Quality.

I’ve really been digging this track for the last week. Great stuff.
It’s official. This will stay in my top 5 of the year, if it doesn’t then I think it will be because I started 4 bands, released 4 albums and Pfork gave them all 10 while only giving Feist a 9.9 “IT’s a volcano, it’s a volcano, it’s a Val Cane No?”
She was a treat to meet at Lollapalooza. I wonder what she thought of my CD
I look forward to everything she does.
My first experience hearing Feist was at Lollapalooza last summer- she was captivating! And, this is really strange when I think about it now, when I first starting falling in love with Regina Spektor’s music I kept telling everyone she reminded me of Feist!
Now I have no idea where that comparison came from, but I guess it was just an initial impression.
Anyway, love her!
