Here we are my friends, at long last, The Daily Graboid is back to start the year off fresh with samples of the newest releases each and every week. After a short absence due to a lack of quality albums throughout most of December, this week shows a couple of decent releases that were enough to start this feature back up again. For those not familiar with how it works, each Wednesday I go through a list of album releases and pick out whichever ones that are worth listening or checking out. It’s good for me because I discover a lot of new music digging through most of these. Hopefully all of you will find something worthwhile as well!
A quick summary of here as we have a live disc from Neko Case that was recorded in 2003 in Austin. Anything containing live Neko Case is precious as she sounds just as good as her studio material. A couple of well-known Canadians get the U,S. release treatment as Ron Sexsmith’s Time Being and Sloan’s Never Hear the End of It are also out today. I don’t think i’ve ever heard a bad Ron Sexsmith song, but a lot of his music tends to stay the same but I guess that isn’t such a negative thing at all. The Sloan album is interesting as it contains 30 tracks with some only lasting a little over 50 seconds in length. Rounding out this week’s batch of albums is Erin McKeown’s Sing You Sinners, which features covers of a lot of older well-known and lesser-known tracks along with an original track from McKeown herself.
There you have it, hope you enjoy what this week has to offer and hope you find something you like! We’ll see you again next week for whatever goodness is in store for us. If you were wondering where I get my lists from, I pick stuff from the always on point Largehearted Boy and Meta Critic.

thank you for the tunes – esp. new erin… btw, that track is properly called “paper moon” – oldie, goodie, etc…
Thanks for the correction! I often make typos.
