Dosh’s The Lost Take is without a doubt, one of the real hidden gems of 2006. It’s one I wished I had discovered sooner as if I could’ve had a couple of more months with it, it would’ve easily made my top 20. If you haven’t listened to it yet, do pick it up as it effortlessly infuses elements of jazz, electro-pop and prog. rock into one of the more pleasurable listening experiences you’ll have this year. With a long list of guest contributions, including Andrew Bird – who Martin Dosh drums for – you just can’t say no to this album.

Luckily for us, an announcement of a new self-released EP from Martin Dosh is in the works for the new year. The EP titled Triple Rock, will be released on January 30 and will feature four live tracks along with new, previously unreleased tracks titled “Henderson,” which are a tribute to Dosh’s cat which was killed by a car in front of his house in Sept. 2006.

The CD will be limited edition but it will also be made available digitally via anticon exclusively through iTunes and the anticon web store. He’s also announced a batch of live dates, so do check those out as i’ve heard he’s puts on an amazing one man show.

Congrats on your new home! Looks good.
I really, really like this Dosh album, and as I’m working on my Top 20, it might just sneak in there as a late favourite.

    Thanks Sinéad :)

yeah, the album really surprised me when I first heard it. I’m hoping it actually makes a few year-end lists.
