I’d like to direct your attention to Charlie of Nerd Litter’s post he put up yesterday. His new feature titled “For the record” asks five bloggers the same question and having the results on his site. For his first edition, he asked Jeff from The Passion of The Weiss, Taylor from Music For Kids Who Can’t Read Good, Justin from An Aquarium Drunkard, Dave from The Rawking Refuses To Stop! and myself (yay!). The question that was posed to us was what were our top three favorite albums of the 2000s.
I felt very honored that he’d ask me to be a part of this, so actually coming up with three choices on my part was extremely difficult. What’s funny is when I first received the email about it initially, I thought Charlie asked me for my top three of 2006. I ended up sending him that before I was corrected. Pretty embarrassing but I thought it was a funny thing to mention. Anyways, go head over there and check out the results as there were some very interesting choices.

There’s a new free downloadable Christmas track available from The Knife. There seems to be a lot of free Christmas themed tracks available in general, but I found this kind of amusing as the track doesn’t really seem very holiday-ish at all, unless the saying of reindeer and bells throughout the entire thing is enough. But hey, it’s free and there’s no complaining about that.
It’s a track originally called “Reindeer” on their first album, but spruced up for the holidays. I usually don’t care about Christmas stuff but this overload of holiday themed music is getting me into the holiday spirit. So much so that i’ll probably be posting a Christmas mix sometime soon.

A new Apostle of Hustle track was released onto the internet the other day along with an announcement of a album release in the new year. The band’s second album, will be titled National Anthem Of Nowhere and will be released February 6 in Canada with a US release a month later.
For those not familiar, they’re part of the Arts & Crafts label along with being members of Broken Social Scene. They also just have an awesome name. Anyone agree with that? I love it.

When I first heard The Knife, I thought I would jump out of the moving car. I really, really hated them.
Now, however, I can’t stop listening to “Heartbeats”, “We Share Our Mother’s Health”, etc. I love their stuff!
It’s weird how one moment, a song makes you wnat to kill yourself and the next moment it makes you want to dance.
That’s exactly how I felt when I first heard Silent Shout. It was when I first heard “Heartbeats” and i recognized Karin Dreijer’s vocals on Royksopp’s “What Else Is There” that The Knife finally clicked with me. It was like you know what…I finally get this. haha anyways yea…definitely agree with you there!
