Wednesday afternoon I received probably the most lovely package in the mail. It was interesting as the package was semi-stuffed and I could hear a faint ringing noise when I dropped it on my table as I came home from work that night. I had this confused look come over my face as I was figuring out what exactly was in this package. My extreme paranoia came through as I honestly though it was a bomb or something. I hesistantly opened the package to notice loaded envelope full of assorted candies consisting of two Hershey’s Kisses, and a couple of candy canes that I managed to break in half from my careless handling of the package. The top possibly the cutest package ever, was a Christmas EP from Nashville’s Lylas that was wrapped with red and green yarn and had a sleigh bell (I guess that’s what you call them) tied to it. I almost didn’t even want to remove it as I just had this huge smile over my face as I was looking at it.
Well, I did listen to the EP titled A Christmas Kiss From Lylas – all while eating the sweet candy that was included. It doesn’t hurt that the tracks are actually really well-done Christmas themed tracks. Four tracks, including two instrumentals and two originals with “Swing Low, Sweet Mistletoe” being my favorite of the bunch as it’s a sweet little acoustic track as the subtle inclusion of slide guitar plays over lyrics of fulfilling a wish of receiving a kiss from that special someone under the mistletoe. It’s cute! How can you not like something like this. Did anyone else receive this package? I know Matt at Skatterbrain got it, anyone?

Also head over to Cable & Tweed as Rich has a list of his favorite bloggers and artists’ top album of 2006. Along with asking yours truly, he managed to get picks from members of Cassavetes, Princeton and Kite Flying Society to name a few. It’s a great read as I highly recommend you head over there to check it out. It’s just a prime example of how great the blogging community is to me, as it’s nice to be a part of all these things. Thanks Rich!
