I haven’t really been keeping up with blogs lately, so for the most part i’ve just been reading this avalanche of email I get to find something good to post about. This becomes a chore as I usually don’t get anything good at all, but sometimes…just sometimes i’ll find something pleasantly good. A few days ago i recieved some tracks from Via Audio, an unsigned band originally out of Boston (now NYC I think). This four-piece plays good ol’ fashion indie-pop and who can complain about that? Noone, exactly.

They have an interesting little story as some very high-profile names happened to come across their music. The first of these chance encounters came when Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie was directed towards their myspace page and ended up in his column of the magazin Under the Radar. Another familiar name came along when their EP was handed to drummer Jim Eno of Spoon who in turn invited the band to Austin to produce their new record, Say Something. Interesting isn’t it? I can see why they would like the band so much as these are catchy and simple little pop songs with male and female vocals, just the way I like it. Check these out from the upcoming album, as i’m not sure when the release will be. You can also pick up their self-titled EP on their website and listen to a few tracks on their myspace page.
