Today officially marks the first day of fall, which is my favorite time of the year. It’s definitely what I look forward to most with the transition into winter being the next. To me it’s the most beautiful time time to be outside here in Auburn, walking around campus and taking in the changing leaves and the cool weather as the nights get just cold enough to put on a jacket (which is my favorite kind of weather). Some of my favorite memories happened during this as well, so that just adds to why I enjoy it so much. I just find a lot of beauty in the season so I wanted to make a mix to commemorate it.
I had been wanting to compile it for a while, and initially it was strictly going to contain post-rock songs as I felt it related to the season the most to me. It’s just the kind of music I imagine myself listening to while walking down a street overshadowed by large trees and falling leaves. As I was getting the songs together I kinda got carried away and included just a lot of random songs outside of the post-rock genre. So basically it’s just a lot of songs that I consider beautiful and just what I would consider a decent soundtrack to this fall season.
Ok, enough with all of that. I’m pretty terrible with descriptive words and interesting stories. It’s easy to get inspired reading something from Music is Art and similar blogs but that kind of writing doesn’t work with me, as I could never make words seem so beautiful. Normally I think of acoustic songs when I think of fall, but I can see why this works. Staralfur is one of my favorite songs..ever.
