There have been a lot of great new material from a lot of my favorite artists/bands over the past few days around the blogosphere. It’d be a shame to not post about them here for you guys to check out for yourselves. Let’s check them out shall we?

Ben Kweller | “Penny On The Train Track” [From Stereogum]
The Pernice Brothers | “Somerville”
Rufus Wainwright | “Casanova In Hell” [live Pet Shop Boys cover]
Scissor Sisters | “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing” [new track courtesy of MOKB]
Razorlight | “In The Morning” [streaming track, merely ok single i recieved in an email.]

The best news to me out of all if this is the news NME broke out about the return of one of my favorite singer/songwriters Badly Drawn Boy! Seeing him live resulted in one of the best shows i’d ever been to. The man is simply amazing, and i can’t wait to hear something from his upcoming album.

Badly Drawn Boy has announced details of his long-awaited return.

After a two-year absence, the Bolton -born singer-songwriter – real name Damon Gough – is to release fifth album Born In The UK on October 23.

The album will be his first for new label EMI, after splitting from XL after the release of 2004’s ‘One Plus One Is One’.

Tracks lined up for the album include the Springsteen-inspired title track ‘Born In The UK’, ‘Degrees Of Separation’, ‘Nothing’s Going To Change My Mind’, ‘Promises’ and ‘Times Of Times’.
